Changing the ship building and design industry with autonomous technology

  • Summit
Discover the different and similiar opportunities and challenges between greenhouses and ships with our keynote speaker Klaas Visser
The first unmanned ships are starting to sail our waters. Klaas Visser promotes the opinion that developments in autonomous technology are the greatest challenge for shipbuilders since the transition from sailboats to steamships. New technology will result in a completely new ship design and concepts. Visser will share experimental results, new opportunities, challenges, and a ‘behind-the-scenes’ view. In March 2019, trials with autonomous maneuvering were held on the North Sea, initiated by the Joint Industry Project Autonomous Shipping. Klaas Visser will share insights and results. In dialogue with the audience, we will discover the similar and different opportunities and challenges between greenhouses and ships.
